The Time is Short

Democracy has nothing to do with freedom. Democracy is a soft variant of communism, and rarely in the history of ideas has it been taken for anything else.

Democracy virtually assures that only bad and dangerous men will ever rise to the top of government.

-          Hans Herman Hoppe

Here is what democracy has come to:

Barack Obama, 2008: “"They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

This was the first instance that I recall where a politician in the United States in a major position or in a major election made the supporters of his or her opponent, as opposed to the opponent, the enemy.

Here is the second:

Hillary Clinton, 2016: “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?  The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

And the third, in a speech of an extremely malignant form of psychological projection:

Joe Biden, 2022: “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards — backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.

“They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.”

As Moon of Alabama offers:

Next to MAGA the word “democracy” was at the core of Biden’s speech. It appears 31 times.

To sum up the speech: MAGA bad; democracy good.  Attempting to prop up the failed god.  Like Weekend at Bernie’s or something.

Conclusion

Again, from Moon of Alabama:

The speech was, hmm …, aggressive. What does [Biden] expect to come from it? A civil war?

A civil war is the wet-dream of the left and of the principalities and powers behind them.

Revelation 12: 12 Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”

Epilogue

The next one, date TBD:

  1. It seems to me that this most recent instance is a little different. It is certain that Biden was not speaking off the cuff, whereas Clinton and Obama likely were. This one seems much more purposeful. It seems like an attempt to provoke a violent reaction.

Yahoo news had an article highlighting calls for violence from the right, including assassination. Nothing would benifit the left more than an assassination. There needs to be an immediate online movement to denounce all calls for violence as agents provocateur.

    1. "...all calls for violence as agents provocateur."

That will certainly be the case. We can already write the script.

  2. I don't see how people can't see who the real authoritarians are. Of course it is spiritual deception of some sort, but it is still strange to see.

Talking to a "conservative" yesterday, I said we should abolish the FBI and CIA because of how wicked they are and aimed at harassing conservatives. It got to the point where he was saying we NEED these agencies to protect us against communism even if the agencies are unconstitutional. We just can't afford to get rid of them or there will be no law or order in the country.

This completely ignores Antifa literally killing people in the streets. Illinois has now decriminalized burglary, robbery, and theft. They will pick the perps up but release them without bail. Law and order is already dead in some states because our federal and state bureaucracies are so infused with Marxism and atheism. But this person wouldn't even support limiting this failed government to constitutional limits. I guess when the FBI knocks on his door he will be glad.

    1. I remember talking to someone high in the local Republican party some time after Obama was first elected. He was complaining about how Obama bailed out the auto companies and the unions. (He said nothing of the bank bailouts - no complaints on those, it seems).

I told him that is was Bush that approved the bailout, not Obama (Obama was pres-elect at the time). He couldn't believe it. I have no idea if he ever went back to check.

    2. The average, run-of-the-mill Republican conservative will weep crocodile tears at the size of the government and its budgets, but while they are wiping the tears out of their eyes with one hand, they are shoving the other hand deep into someone else's pocket, hoping to grab some of the benefit of democratic socialism for themselves.

If they were truly consistent with their message about smaller government, fewer programs, lower taxes, balanced budgets, etc., they would begin cleaning up their own act by refusing to participate in the scam.

But they won't. The lust for money and power corrupts across the board. There be few who are able to resist it.
