  1. Pangloss gave instruction in metaphysico-theologico-cosmolo-nigology. He proved admirably that there cannot possibly be an effect without a cause and that in this best of all possible worlds the baron’s castle was the most beautiful of all castles and his wife the best of all possible baronesses. —It is clear, said he, that things cannot be otherwise than they are, for since everything is made to serve an end, everything necessarily serves the best end. Observe: noses were made to support spectacles, hence we have spectacles. Legs, as anyone can plainly see, were made to be breeched, and so we have breeches. . . . Consequently, those who say everything is well are uttering mere stupidities; they should say everything is for the best.

  2. Dropping out of high-school 36 years ago, at the age of 16, was probably the best decision of my life. Even then, I realized that we were being taught pure BS; and that we were not free. The very fact that NYC schools were (and still are) a model of dystopia run amuck was proof of what could be expected in the lives of, and society composed of those therein indoctrinated. Before dropping-out, I'd spend school days riding the NYC subways to distant and unknown locales; and walking around such places. THAT was a great education! After escaping HS, I'd spend a lot of time in libraries; studying what interested me and had relevance to my life; and from the perspectives of many different authors, instead of just one which was picked for all by some communist Jew on a school board. That, and going to work as self-employed micro-businessman at that age, really taught me how the world and real-life operate- and gave me a truly well-rounded education.

PS: Add to the BU2B list:

" "Public" schools are there to educate and make you successful".

    2. Yes, the lies go way back, being founded in service an industrial revolution based on the following:

"We don't need a nation of thinkers, we need a nation of workers." — John D. Rockefeller
