Can America be MGA*?

*Made Great Again

There are two, only two, dynamics at work here: the truth and its opposite, pragmatism, or whatever works.

We need to raise our sights, to stop being obsessed with what is happening right now, and to see the future of mankind: peace, prosperity, and love on a world-wide scale because we have been influenced by His Spirit to treat our neighbor as we would wish to be treated BY our neighbor.

When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. There is no other way.

-          Roger

I have been thinking about this comment from Roger to my post, Quo Vadis MAGA? In that post, I discussed what is happening geopolitically through the lens of the Heartland Theory posited by Halford Mackinder about 120 years ago, and I used that lens to consider which way America is going under Trump and just what does he mean by “Make America Great Again.”  (Go back to the post to see what might be meant by this phrase that can mean almost anything.)

I used the post to take a step back, considering the confusion that is the Trump presidency.  And, by stepping back maybe getting some clarity – or at least reminding myself of the geopolitical lens through which I see world events playing out.

Roger’s comment has me thinking that I need to take a further step back – call it the ultimate step back – and ask: Can America be Made Great Again?  And to answer this question – to offer the ultimate and unassailable answer, there is only one source to use.

Jeremiah 18: 11 “Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.”’” 12 And they said, “That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart.”

This sounds like America today.

17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back and not the face in the day of their calamity.”

God showing the back and not the face is one of the most damning statements He makes.

2 Kings 17: 14 Nevertheless they would not hear, but stiffened their necks, like the necks of their fathers, who did not believe in the Lord their God.

This also sounds like America today.

18 Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them from His sight; there was none left but the tribe of Judah alone.

Being removed from God’s sight.  Also one of the most damning statements God makes.

2 Kings 24: 3 Surely at the commandment of the Lord this came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, 4 and also because of the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the Lord would not pardon.

Again, removed from His sight.

Colossians 3: 5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

Has “America” put away any of these things?  We know the answer, and God tells us the outcome: the wrath of God is coming.

From Revelation 18.  An angel with great authority cried mightily:

“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!”

Why has Babylon fallen?

“… all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

Sounds like America today.

Conclusion

Romans 1: 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness

Suppressed truth.  JFK, nine-eleven, who did Epstein work for.  These three events strike me as the most significant events for exemplifying and enabling the unrighteous condition of America today.

As long as America continues in this condition, it will never be made great again.  If there is any consistency with God (and you know that it is not possible for God to be anything other than consistent), America cannot be made great again – not in any meaning of “great” that is good.

God is showing America His back, not His face; He has removed America from His sight.  For this reason, there is only one way for America to go – that is the way of Babylon.

Healing can only come through Jesus Christ.  And, unfortunately, many of His (so-called) servants are leading the charge of corruption.

  1. I still think decentralization and reducing the scope of government can play a role in making America more obedient to God and therefore more free, safe, and prosperous.

Decentralization creates competition between political entities. We already have some of this with the great sorting movement of today. But more formal decentralization would make this even more pronounced and allow states to keep people out who are coming from bad actor states, think "No Californians Allowed". Or at least have enhanced vetting and conditions placed on intra-national migration.

Reducing the scope is about draining the swamp, repealing the 20th century Progressive innovations, etc.

  2. The events of my life which illumined my eyes includes not only JFK, the 9/11 episode, and the Epstein/child molestations and their relation to the intelligence folks and to the corrupt nature of our national "elite", but also to the "Pandemic", which ties into the Epstein narrative with regard to the harm done to American children. On the brighter side, God bless and keep safe RJ Kennedy, Jr, in his attempts to give safeguards to our children vis-a vis the Pharma oligarchs and to his uncovering the harvesting of human organs from still living human beings, some of them, undoubtedly, children. Our Lord was very solicitous regarding His little ones. And not very happy with those who do them physical, moral, and spiritual harm.

  3. I keep coming back to the complete lack of accountability for pretty much everything. JFK, September 11th and the lies which brought about its subsequent wars, Covid, Epstein. Because there was zero accountability for the lies which brought us “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” we got the Maidan Revolution by the same cast of characters that has brought us and Europe to a proxy war against Russia.

  4. Bionic,

Everything you have said is true and one could easily add dozens or hundreds more verses to that string. Yet, all is not lost and there is hope. Psalm 37, for instance, which tells us not to fret or be angry because of evil men who will soon be gone. Cut down like grass is the expression.

However, this does not mean we believers are going to escape unscathed or held harmless. As individual Americans, and also part of the community known as America, we are partly responsible, responsible to some degree, for the condition of this country. We, the People, have made it what it is and we, the people, are going to pay the reckoning.

Daniel and his friends were upright, moral, and loved God. I am sure they hated the social condition of Israel at their time, but they still went to Babylon. Maybe in chains and stark naked.

"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends [gives]; and his descendants are blessed. -- Psalm 37: 25-26

Peace to you, my friends. No matter what comes.
