Neocons Against Foreign Military Interventions

No, this isn’t a new support group for recovering warmongers….

Neocons are coming out strongly against foreign military intervention.  You say you haven’t noticed?  I suggest you just haven’t looked in the right places; perhaps thinking a little too parochially.

U.S. President Barack Obama warned Russia on Friday that its bombing campaign against Syrian rebels will suck Moscow into a "quagmire," after a third straight day of air raids in support of President Bashar al-Assad.

"An attempt by Russia and Iran to prop up Assad and try to pacify the population is just going to get them stuck in a quagmire and it won't work," Obama said.

Russia Is Repeating Cold War Mistakes in Syria: In 1957, the Soviet Union’s ally Egypt intervened in Syria’s messy politics. It didn’t go well. Why does Putin think this time will be different?

British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Sunday that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin's decision to take military action in Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was a "terrible mistake".

Turkey and Saudi Arabia on Thursday warned Russia over the consequences of its intervention in Syria, with Ankara telling Moscow its bombing campaign in support of the regime was a "big mistake".

…as Jeremy Shapiro, a senior fellow in the Brookings Institution's Project on International Order and Strategy, explained to me, the truth is far different. If Russia did manage to "blindside" the Obama administration, he argues, that's only because the Russian intervention is so incredibly stupid that it took the US by surprise that Putin would actually do it.

"I have said before that we believe that Russia has the wrong strategy," [U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter] explained. "They continue to hit targets that are not ISIL. We believe this is a fundamental mistake."

"Despite what the Russians say, we have not agreed to cooperate with Russia so long as they continue to pursue a mistaken strategy and hit these targets," he said.

  2. The hypocrisy of Neocon's is breathtaking, truly.

It could only be better if Obama said, "Don't do it, we've tried it already!"

    2. You still haven't noticed this Trojan horse (as I warned in 2008) is nothing like the guy you voted for? Banker bailouts, TPP, bigger, better wars?May not quack, but he sure walks like a neo-con duck.

  3. Even Hermann Goering, once in American custody, had the honesty to warn the Allies against intervention - implementing price controls in Germany in this case - because the Nazis had tried them and they didn't work.

  4. To say fox is any different than abc, bbc, cbc, cbs, nbc, cnn, npr, pbs, etc, is like saying you can lift a túrd by the clean end...

Like with the other nonsense in Syria, the US State Department armed terrorist rebels to get rid of Gadaffi, the same ones that killed Ambassador Stevens and stole weapons from that secret armory... The EUSSR needed Libya's oil, but Muammar Gadaffi decided he wanted gold instead of worthless fiat currency from the EU...

What was the first thing they did when Gaddafi was deposed? Form a new government? NOPE, they formed a new Libyan national bank. Now, why would they do that? Even if Muammar was deposed, he and his heirs would still be the sole proprietors, so guess what?

Leon Puñettas was so busy with gay pride celebrations at the Pentagon, he forgot there was a war. It was easy to dispose of the hated Muammar Gaddafi, but Bashar al Assad has friends... and Russia has real soldiers on their border and no gay pride marches in their army... imagine that...

Ukraine is the same scenario as Serbia... NATO bombs Serbia so the IMF can make loans for rebuilding and get control of Serbian iridium assets... The Kiev junta is another IMF coup... NATO... North Atlantic Terrorist Organization.

  5. The only reason for this display of hypocrisy is that these neocons and R2P idiots want to be the ones inside Syria doing all the bombing (against Assad, that is) instead of the Russians. They are really angry about Putin beating them to the punch and installing his version of a "no fly zone".
