Some of my thoughts have been shaped from this blog.

I think the next article I write in my blog (https://thecrosssectionrmb.blogspot.com/) will be to apply 1 Corinthians 12 (and other relevant passages) to individualism, collectivism, and the natural order of the division of labor.

I wrote for my church a couple of years about the Biblical evidence for individualism and personal freedom. I may expand on these thoughts in it or go a different direction. Not sure yet.RMBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13603112499567064214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-38453447968122354882020-06-18T07:54:50.367-07:002020-06-18T07:54:50.367-07:00I was wrote on a public message board "you ca...I was wrote on a public message board "you can either have diversity or equality, pick one."

Everyone disagreed with me, but no one even attempted to explain why or talk through the issue. They couldn't even think about the issue. To them there was nothing to think through. In their brain there is an imprint, made somewhere by something unknown to them, that equality and diversity are both good and exist and should be pursued simultaneously.

It was one more clue to me that even intelligent people are miseducated so that they won't be able to think.RMBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13603112499567064214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-81696591938090364802020-06-18T07:47:40.311-07:002020-06-18T07:47:40.311-07:00Aren't you, in fact, expounding 1 Corinthians ...Aren't you, in fact, expounding 1 Corinthians 12?Crush Limbrawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11511707894293049606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-1000216635227312202020-06-18T07:30:45.023-07:002020-06-18T07:30:45.023-07:00This is exactly what I have gathered from the way ...This is exactly what I have gathered from the way Lewis has worded this sermon, as I have presented in this post and also here:

http://bionicmosquito.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-body.html bionic mosquitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12002548958078731031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-91564199072710775352020-06-18T05:56:00.214-07:002020-06-18T05:56:00.214-07:00Sorry if this is too off-topic, but this part got ...Sorry if this is too off-topic, but this part got me thinking:

"The individual Christian is an organ in the body – he is not a “member” of a club or community. Such members can be interchanged. However, a heart cannot replace the lung."

I know this post and snippet above isn't directly related to the closing of the churches that's been ongoing, but I think there is something here that can be applied in that context.

The church isn't just a "club" or "community," it's the bride of Christ where every member has a place and role and purpose. To treat it as though it's a thing to be closed is almost a category mistake, like saying you can close your family or something.

Basically, the idea that the church can be close is treating it on the same level as a civic club or other such gathering when it is so much more.

-DaveAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
