But as I implied, and Bionic made explicit in his reply, the statist "right" is really just a variant of Progressivism with nationalistic, pro-family rhetoric (which is belied by their actual policies). Drifting away from our current horrors towards that kind of horror would be no good, that was my point.cosmic dwarfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16562864681773374828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-42366601959153579262020-01-10T21:29:39.622-08:002020-01-10T21:29:39.622-08:00Nilo, I understand your point and share your conce...Nilo, I understand your point and share your concern. However, I see that the opposite of today's left on the statist spectrum is still "left" in the traditional sense. None of them care about an organic organizing of society.

It is difficult for me to see those who wish for decentralization and to be left alone with their families and communities to strong-arm the rest of the population. This, of course, is also a drawback - but it is the only just position.bionic mosquitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12002548958078731031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-39982128926779394552020-01-10T17:13:01.412-08:002020-01-10T17:13:01.412-08:00"I keep wondering if I'll come to regret ..."I keep wondering if I'll come to regret going up so hard against the left."

Not possible. The left is evil. The left's point of view is not just another opinion or perspective or sort of wrong or a little tweaked, or whatever. It is evil. Whether it's abortion, gun control, climate change, or any other subject, they are just plain evil.

BM is right when he refers to "one of many inventions designed to strip us of our liberty...Once again, nothing more than an agenda for control – stripping man of what it means to be human." That's the bottom line - if you are allowed to live in the first place, they want complete cradle-to-grave control and regulation of your life (and death.) I thought of expanding on this by elaborating on the spectrum of abortion on one end and euthanasia on the other and everything in between (government schools, propaganda and censorship, thought-control, the surveillance state, never-ending wars, etc.), but I think everyone here is familiar with the current state of affairs.

I guess my point is we should never shy away from using the word evil when it comes to the left. From a spiritual perspective it it ultimately Satanic. As Jesus said of Satan, "He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." The left's marching orders come from the pit of Hell whether they know that or not. I'm sure at the authority level some are knowingly and willingly complicit. The rest are dupes.Mister Spockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04790678390017800846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-14207735310470485062020-01-09T20:11:11.711-08:002020-01-09T20:11:11.711-08:00I keep wondering if I'll come to regret going ...I keep wondering if I'll come to regret going up so hard against the left. It's surprisingly easy for most people to switch from the statist left to the statist right and vice versa (small wonder, seeing as they're so similar).

When the current leftist insanity fades away - and it's already fraying - I hope we don't end up with its opposite within the statist spectrum. But if the left continues to obsess over CO2 and the sacred duty of society to kowtow to maladjusted people, instead of addressing the growing totalitarianism of states around the globe... I fear that may be exactly where we're headed.cosmic dwarfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16562864681773374828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648884752216444797.post-16617448934963651032020-01-09T15:03:47.942-08:002020-01-09T15:03:47.942-08:00As a humorous aside, a few years ago I was chattin...As a humorous aside, a few years ago I was chatting with some women at my gym, and one of the women told us that when she was employed at Oregon State University she happened to mention to her department colleagues that so-and-so was “low man on the totem pole.” The horror of the reaction she received from her colleagues for using such a term clinched her decision to retire.
